Story Behind the Art:
'I once had the chance to go to the Yao hill tribe where I saw women braiding threads to make accessories. Their technique and style has been passed down from mother to daughter,' recalls Napapat. 'I wanted to learn and though they tried to tell me it was actually difficult, I was undeterred. Eventually I started to my own designs with silver and waxed cords so they don't fray. Friends and family love my designs, and the fact I've managed to preserve the ethnic essence we all love.'
